The DESMOND course will build your understanding about:

  • Your diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes
  • Complications which can happen
  • Fats and carbohydrates
  • Blood glucose monitoring, and
  • Simple ways to create a more healthy lifestyle

It’s a one-day course (typically 9.30am – 4.30pm, with regular breaks)

Type 2 carbohydrate counting

This is a short 3-hour information session for anyone who has Type 2 diabetes and is using insulin.

It will help you improve your knowledge in these areas:

  • How diabetes medication works and when to take it
  • Carbohydrate types, portions and recommended amounts
  • Meal planning and portion sizes

The end part of this session is an opportunity to discuss various types of blood monitoring meters which can help to further improve your control.
